July has numerous observations for most Pagans and Wiccans, from the acknowledgment of the fertility of the Earth to the show of respect for intelligence in nature’s patterns. Among these, July 1st, or Crone Day as some have called it, presents a unique time in which to reflect on a deeply meaningful aspect of life: aging.

While the modern era pushes us to embrace youthfulness, Crone Day urges us to embrace the beauty, strength, and inner wisdom that are the gift of age. It is a day to celebrate the “Crone” archetype – an older woman with great intuition, years of experience, and transmutative power, too often disparaged but very potent.¹

What is Crone Day? Reclaiming the Wisdom of Age
