TEMPLESPA for Age Spots: The Skinny

No pictures, no long intros, just the product lowdown you’re looking for.

Because, sometimes you just want the straight deets so, here’s your no-nonsense guide to TEMPLESPA products that can genuinely help with: age spots and hyperpigmentation.

First, the honest bit: skincare can help brighten the appearance of uneven pigmentation, but it cannot promise to remove a true age spot. Age spots are linked to years of UV exposure, so sun protection matters just as much as the products underneath it.

These are the ingredients and products I would actually look at, rather than throwing the whole bathroom shelf at the problem.

  • Brighten: Vitamin C and Alpha Arbutin can help reduce the appearance of age spots and uneven pigmentation.
  • Exfoliate: AHAs such as Glycolic, Lactic and Mandelic Acids lift dead surface cells, helping skin look smoother, brighter and more even.
  • Target post-blemish marks: Niacinamide, Salicylic Acid and Retinal can be useful when dark marks are left after spots, particularly if excess oil and breakouts are also part of the picture.
  • Protect: Broad-spectrum SPF helps prevent further UV damage and existing pigmentation becoming darker.

The Most Targeted Options

  • LET’S CONCENTRATE Skin Glowing Serum, 30 ml, £55: This is the clearest place to start if pigmentation is your main concern. It combines Vitamin C and Alpha Arbutin to brighten the skin and help reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation and age spots. Shop LET’S CONCENTRATE.
  • MOISTURE TO GLOW Radiance Moisturiser, 50 ml, £48: If you would rather have your brightening ingredients in a moisturiser than add another serum, this is the more straightforward option. Its formula includes Alpha Arbutin and Vitamin C and is designed for dull, lacklustre skin and uneven-looking pigmentation. Shop MOISTURE TO GLOW.

Exfoliators & Peels

  • GLOWCOLIC Resurfacing Toner, 150 ml, £25: An exfoliating toner containing Glycolic, Lactic and Mandelic Acids. It lifts dead surface cells to help dull, uneven-looking skin appear smoother and brighter. Shop GLOWCOLIC.
  • MOST REVEALING Glowing Skin Oxygen Peel, 50 ml, £42: A foaming peel with Vitamin C and a blend of exfoliating acids. It helps resurface the skin and improve the appearance of dullness and uneven skin tone. Shop MOST REVEALING.

You do not need both. Choose the format that suits your skin and the routine you are most likely to keep using. Both products contain AHAs and carry a sunburn warning, so follow the directions, use SPF and do not overdo it.

If Dark Marks Follow Spots

CLEAR TO ME Skin Clarifying Serum, 28 ml, £55: This is designed primarily for excess oil, blemishes and breakouts. It contains Salicylic Acid, Niacinamide, Retinal and Vitamin C, so it may be useful if your pigmentation consists of marks left behind after spots. It would not be my first recommendation for classic sun-related age spots. Shop CLEAR TO ME.

Looking for Overall Glow?

If what you really mean is that your skin looks dull, rather than having a particular patch of pigmentation you want to target, my guide to getting glowing skin with TEMPLESPA is a better fit. That is where products such as EASY GLOWING, IN THE BEGINNING and BREAKFAST SMOOTHIE make more sense.

The Most Important Step: Sun Protection

Neither SPF30 nor SPF50 will remove an existing age spot. What daily sun protection can do is help prevent further UV damage and reduce the chance of existing pigmentation becoming darker.

  • LIFE DEFENCE SPF50 High Protection SPF Moisturiser, 50 ml, £48: A feather-light moisturiser with broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection. Shop LIFE DEFENCE SPF50.
  • LIFE DEFENCE SPF30 High Protection Moisturiser, 50 ml, £48: The SPF30 version offers the same lightweight texture and broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection. Shop LIFE DEFENCE SPF30.

SPF does not stop being relevant because summer is ending. Pigmentation does not work to a bank-holiday timetable.

I cover facial, body and lip protection in more detail in TEMPLESPA for SPF Protection: The Skinny.

A friendly note: The product links above take you to my TEMPLESPA consultant shop. If you would like help narrowing the choices down, just give me a shout. You do not need everything on this page. A simple routine you will actually use is far more sensible.

A Quick Health Note

Age spots are usually harmless, but skincare is not a diagnosis. If a mark is new, changing, uneven in colour or shape, itchy, sore, bleeding or crusty, please get it checked by a GP rather than assuming it is an age spot. The NHS has guidance on skin changes that should be checked.
